Oxnard Beaches
Oxnard’s beach communities are a hidden gem of Southern California. With wide, white sandy beaches, uncrowded shores, great surf, and stunning oceanfront homes, these coastal neighborhoods offer a relaxed, idyllic lifestyle. For many years, they’ve also been among the most affordable beachfront properties in the region, making them a highly sought-after option for buyers.
There are three main beach communities in Oxnard:
Silver Strand Beach
The southernmost beach in Oxnard, Silver Strand is embraced by a colorful neighborhood of beautiful homes, many of which sit directly on—or just steps from—the sand. Known for its pristine white beaches and consistent surf, Silver Strand borders the Navy base, giving the area a unique sense of privacy and charm.
Hollywood Beach
Just north of Silver Strand, Hollywood Beach stretches along the coast adjacent to the harbor, offering walkable access to restaurants, shops, and harbor amenities. Homes here range from beachfront residences to condominiums, many with incredible ocean views. Historically known as “Hollywood by the Sea,” this stretch first gained fame in the 1920s as a backdrop for the blockbuster The Sheik. Streets in the community were later named after famous Hollywood thoroughfares—Sunset Drive, La Brea Street, Laurel Court—and the area became a getaway for golden-era stars like Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Rudolph Valentino. The construction of Channel Islands Harbor in the 1960s divided the original community into two distinct neighborhoods: Hollywood Beach and Silver Strand.
Oxnard Shores
The northernmost of the three beach communities, Oxnard Shores offers wide sandy beaches, stunning homes, and easy access to Harbor Boulevard. Many properties feature a unique layout, with an alley on one side and a pedestrian walkway on the other, providing both privacy and a seamless connection to the beach.
Together, these communities combine history, coastal beauty, and a relaxed Southern California lifestyle, making Oxnard’s beaches a true hidden treasure for residents and visitors alike.
